Marine Buffer
|
Marine Buffer™is
the original and still unique buffer with a pK of 8.3, designed
to adjust pH to 8.3 and maintain both pH and alkalinity(KH).
It is formulated not to disrupt the natural ionic balance of
marine water with prolonged use. Marine Buffer™ contains
a natural balance of sodium, magnesium, calcium, and potassium
salts of carbonate, bicarbonate, and borate, formulated for
enhanced and lasting buffer capacity at pH 8.3 without sacrificing
calcium. It dissolves readily and does not obscure water clarity.
The original Marine Buffer™remains clearly superior in
both composition and performance and is the choice of discriminating
aquarists. A 250 g bottle treat 800–1600 gallons. Marine

Reef Buffer
|
Reef Buffer™ is intended primarily
for use in a reef system where the maintenance of a pH of 8.3
is often difficult. When used as directed Reef Buffer™
will raise the pH of your reef system to 8.3 without fear of
accidentally overshooting the pH to a dangerous level. Reef
Buffer™ will also raise carbonate alkalinity. Reef Buffer™
is a blended product and is not just sodium carbonate. Reef
Builder™ should be used to raise alkalinity when pH is
not a problem. Use Seachem's MultiTest: Marine pH & Alkalinity™
to check pH and total alkalinity. 500 g treats 16,000 L (4,000
gallons). |

Reef Builder
|
Reef Builder ™ raises carbonate
alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH. With long term
use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Carbonates
and calcium are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes
deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline
in coral health. Used as directed, Reef Builder™ will not
deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend
to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef Builder™
and Reef Buffer™ may be used together. Use Reef Builder™
to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use Reef
Buffer™ to raise carbonate alkalinity and pH. 500 g treats
32,000 L (8,000 gallons). |

Reef Advantage Calcium
|
Reef Advantage Calcium™ is
equivalent to dry Reef Complete™. It is a non-caustic (pH
8.3-8.6) optimized blend of ionic calcium designed to restore
and maintain calcium levels found in natural seawater. Calcium
and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either
becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid
decline in coral health. Reef Advantage Calcium™ also includes
magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to typical
utilization ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr). This allows one to
maintain these two important elements while maintaining calcium.
Unlike limewater (kalkwasser), Reef Advantage Calcium™
does not have a caustic pH and will not deplete magnesium. Used
as directed, it will not deplete alkalinity. A 500 g bottle
treats 16,000 L (4,000 gallons). |

Reef Calcium
|
Reef Calcium™ is a concentrated
(50,000 mg/L) bioavailable polygluconate complexed calcium intended
to maintain calcium in the reef aquarium without altering pH
(formulated at pH 8.2). Polygluconate complexation confers several
benefits: it increases the bioavailability of the calcium, it
provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain
peak coral growth, and it inhibits calcium precipitation/alkalinity
depletion. One side benefit includes enhancement of denitrification.
Polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is
biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a
properly maintained reef system. Reef Calcium™ may be used
alone to maintain calcium but will provide enhanced levels of
coral growth when used in conjunction with an ionic calcium
supplement (Reef Complete™, Reef Advantage Calcium™,
Reef Kalkwasser™). Reef Calcium™ is intended to maintain
calcium levels; if calcium becomes seriously depleted one should
either perform a water change or use an ionic calcium supplement
to restore the depleted level of calcium. Each 100 mL treats
up to 1,600 L (400 gallons). |

Reef Iodide
|
Reef Iodide™ is an iodide
supplement for those with dense populations of invertebrates
or soft corals. It is also useful in tanks with aggressive skimmers.
Reef Iodide™ is concentrated at 8,000 mg/L. As little as
1 mL in 160 Liters (40 gallons) will raise iodide to natural
seawater concentration. It is formulated to provide a safe source
of iodide that will not convert to toxic free iodine under storage
or reef conditions. It is recommended that this product be used
with the MultiTest: Iodide™ test kit to ensure proper maintenance
of iodide levels. 100 mL treats 8,000 L (2,000 gallons). |

Reef Strontium
|
Reef Strontium™ is a concentrated
(10,000 mg/L) gluconate strontium supplement for the reef aquarium
that will restore and maintain strontium to levels found in
natural sea water. It is most useful in densely populated aquariums
requiring a continuous supply of strontium. It has a pH of 8.2
and is neither acidic nor caustic. Gluconate complexation confers
several benefits: it increases the bioavailability of the strontium,
it provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain
peak coral growth, and it inhibits strontium precipitation/alkalinity
depletion. Gluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus
it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth
in a properly maintained reef system. 500 mL treats 8,000 L
(2,000 gallons). |

Reef Complete™ is a concentrated
(160,000 mg/L) optimized blend of ionic calcium designed to
restore and maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater
without affecting pH (formulated at pH 8.3). Calcium and carbonates
are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient,
coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral
health. Reef Complete™ also includes magnesium and strontium
in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios (100:5:0.1,
Ca:Mg:Sr). This allows one to maintain these two important elements
while maintaining calcium. Reef Complete™ delivers 560x
more calcium than is available from an equal volume of kalkwasser

Reef Plus
|
Reef Plus™ is a full spectrum
supplement of trace components such as iodide, bromide, molybdenum,
iron, manganese, cobalt, potassium, inositol, choline; important
vitamins such as C and B12; and beneficial amino acids, such
as cysteine, proline, glycine, alanine, and lysine. It may be
used as a food supplement. It complements Reef Complete™
and Reef Calcium™. It is a concentrated product: each 500
mL treats 8,000 L (2,000 gallons). |

(4,000 meq/L) optimized blend of carbonate and bicarbonate salts

Marine Trace

MarineTrace™ supplies a broad
range of trace elements demonstrated to be necessary for proper
fish health and growth. Unlike terrestrial animals, fish obtain
nutrients from both their food and environment. Trace elements

thus it is important to restore them on a regular basis. Marine
Trace™ contains only those elements actually demonstrated

Reef Trace
|
Reef Trace™ supplies a broad
range of trace elements demonstrated to be necessary for proper
reef health and growth. Trace elements are normally depleted
by utilization, oxidation and precipitation. The latter two
processes occur more rapidly than with other micronutrients.
This makes it important to restore trace elements on a regular
basis. Reef Trace™ may be used alone or in conjunction
with Reef Plus™. Best results are obtained when both are

Reef Dip
|
Reef Dip™ contains elemental
iodine complexed to a protective slime coat for safely and gently
disinfecting corals. It is effective against bacteria, fungus,
and protozoans. It may be used prophylactically (without evidence
of disease) or to remedy diseased specimens. It is safe to use
with both stony and soft corals. It is also safe for anemones
and polyps. A 250 mL bottle makes 200 L (50 gallons) of dip
solution. |

Prime
|
Prime™ is the complete and
concentrated conditioner for both fresh and salt water. It should
be the first choice conditioner when setting up a new tank,
adding, or changing water. Prime™ removes chlorine, chloramine
and ammonia. Prime™ converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic
form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. Prime™
may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite
toxicity. Prime™ detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing
the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. Prime™ also
promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime
coat. Unlike competing products, Prime™ is non-acidic and
will not impact pH. Prime™ will not over-activate skimmers.
It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water
at typical concentration levels. Use at start-up and whenever
adding or replacing water. A 100 mL bottle treats over 1,000

level of growth. It is most useful in densely populated aquariums
requiring a continuous supply of strontium. Reef Advantage Strontium™
is a highly concentrated (30,000 ppm), ionically balanced strontium
supplement that can be added directly to the tank (no predissolving
required). 600 g treats 20,000 L (5,000 gallons). |

Reef Advantage Magnesium
|
Reef Advantage Magnesium™
is a concentrated (80,000 ppm) optimized blend of magnesium,
chloride, and sulfate salts designed to restore depleted levels
of magnesium with minimal impact to the ionic ratios found in
natural sea water. Reef Advantage Magnesium™ contains no
ammonia! This is a common contaminant in every liquid magnesium
supplement on the market. Severely depleted levels of magnesium
(below 800 mg/L) can cause depressed pH levels and an inability
to maintain proper calcium levels. Magnesium depletion is commonly
associated with the use of kalkwasser. 600 g treats 10,000 L
(2,500 gallons). |

Reef Kalkwasser
|
Reef Kalkwasser™ is a pure
calcium hydroxide with unsurpassed purity and solubility characteristics.
This calcium hydroxide meets or exceeds the purity of competing
brands designated for reef use. Calcium hydroxide is used to
prepare limewater (kalkwasser) solutions that are used in an
automated dosing system that replaces evaporated water. Kalkwasser
solutions maintain calcium directly and carbonate alkalinity
indirectly. However, its capacity to perform these functions
is dependent on evaporation rate and CO2 concentration. If the
these two factors are insufficient you can provide additional
calcium with Reef Advantage Calcium™, Reef Complete™,
or Reef Calcium™, and carbonate alkalinity with Reef Builder™
or Reef Carbonate™ (do not mix these directly with a kalkwasser
solution). Reef Kalkwasser™ can also precipitate phosphates
and impurities from the makeup water while maintaining a high
pH which is important for proper calcification rates and for
oxidizing various organics in reef aquaria. 500 g makes 650
L (166 gallons) of kalkwasser solution. |

AmGuard
|
AmGuard™ is a premium narrow
spectrum conditioner for the rapid and safe removal of ammonia
from aquarium water or shipping containers. AmGuard™ does
not work by lowering the pH or forming a temporary ionic complex
with ammonia, but instead, forms an irreversible compound, does
not alter pH, and promotes the proliferation of nitrifying bacteria.
It is a remarkably versatile product that is ideal for emergencies,
establishing new tanks, and receiving fish shipments. It is
compatible with Prime™ and Safe™. A 10 g vial treats
