Daily addition of SDMP will not only directly feed the larger
inhabitants of your reef aquarium, but also promote the production
of zooplankton which in turn can also be a valuable food source
for your reef inhabitants. Depending on the feeding method
employed, SDMP functions as a filter-feeder food for corals
and other invertebrates, fish food, larval fish and invertebrate
food, and an enrichment food for Artemia and rotifer culture.
The abundance of Highly Unsaturated Fatty Acids found in this
strain of marine microalgae causes the foam in protein skimmers
to collapse for a few hours allowing the algae cells longer
residence time in your aquarium before being exported by skimming.
We provide a measuring spoon with each container. Each level
spoon of SDMP contains approximately 60 milligrams which is
equivalent to 150,000,000 algae cells! Although the very high
levels of Highly Unsaturated Fatty Acids (especially Docosahexaenoic
Acid shown to be critical for proper marine larval development)
makes SDMP unique, it also functions as a source for the following
trace elements, vitamins, amino acids, and minerals: Cobalt,
Copper, Iodide, Iron, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel, Selenium,
Silicon, Tin, Vanadium, Zinc, Vitamins A/E/B12/C, Thiamin,
Riboflavin, Pyridoxine, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin, Folic Acid,
Choline, Niacin, Aspartic Acid, Threonine, Serine, Glutamic
Acid, Proline, Glycine, Alanine, Cystine, Valine, Methionine,
Isoleucine, Leucine, Tyrosine, Phenylalanine, Lysine-HCL,
Histidine-HCL, Arginine-HCL, Tryptophan, Calcium, Potassium,
Phosphorus, Sodium, Magnesium, Sulfur, and Chloride.
SUGGESTED USES: DIRECT FEED FOR FISH, CORALS, AND OTHER INVERTEBRATES:
We suggest 1 level measuring spoon (supplied) per 20 gallons
of aquarium water per day. Tap the spoon on the top edge of
the aquarium and allow the spoon-shaped clump of SDMP to drop
onto the surface of the aquarium water. Many fish will attempt
to consume these clumps and in doing so will not only be receiving
some highly nutritious food, but will also help disperse the
SDMP throughout the system. Circulation pumps will further
disperse the food. When used in this manner, the average particle
size of the product ends up between 10-80 microns. For a smaller
particle size (10 microns and less) premix the SDMP in a blender
for 1 minute. Fine mechanical filtration should be removed
while feeding SDMP.
FISH AND INVERTEBRATE LARVAL CULTURE: We suggest 1 level
measuring spoon per 4 gallons of culture water twice per day.
Predisperse the SDMP with water for one minute in a blender
before use. Aerate culture water sufficiently to prevent low
dissolved oxygen levels. Change water frequently to prevent
nutrient accumulation.
ARTEMIA ENRICHMENT: After predispersing with water in a blender
for one minute, add to Artemia culture at a ratio of 1 level
measuring spoon SDMP per 30,000 Artemia nauplii and aerate
heavily for 12 hours before using Artemia.
ROTIFER ENRICHMENT: After predispersing with water in a blender
for one minute, add to rotifer culture at a ratio of one level
measuring spoon SDMP per 200,000 rotifers and aerate heavily
for 12 hours before using rotifers. STORAGE: Keep tightly
covered and refrigerated when not in use. Keep free from moisture.
Never add wet measuring spoon to container.
