I am proud to announce that I am implementing a 7(seven) day
arrive alive, stay alive guarantee! This guarantee will apply
to all the livestock I offer except as noted when posted or before
purchasing. This will be a trial run to see how well the guarantee
is received.
I pride myself in the care I give each of the animals while in
my custody so I am confident that I will only be shipping the healthiest
of specimens. Unfortunately, shipping can take it's toll and who
knows what happens along the chain of custody so to help you, my
customer, I'm offering this guarantee to put your mail ordering
mind at ease and help make the entire experience as pleasant as
possible.
If your critter does not arrive alive or stay alive for 7 days
after leaving my hands I will be happy to credit you for it, minus
any packaging and shipping costs, as long as the criteria below
are met. Clean up crew packages and any clean up critters which
received free shipping will be credited at 50% of the retail price
posted. I am sorry but I can not place a credit on your card. Your
credit here will not expire.
Criteria:
- Your package must be sent via FedEx Priority service and you
must sign for delivery on the first attempt. You may choose other
delivery options when conditions warrant, but only Priority will
keep the guarantee intact.
- You must begin acclimating your new arrivals within an hour
of delivery and use our acclimating
procedures. Be sure to acclimate any critter that appears
to be DOA as well.
- Your water must test within these acceptable ranges. Ammonia
0, Alkalinity 2.5 to 5.0 meq/L, Calcium 400 to 475 mg/L, Nitrate
less than 25ppm, Nitrite 0, pH 8.2-8.4, and SG 1.021-1.025. You
will have to include a separate water sample with your critter
if returning.
- You must return the critter back to me with your water sample
via USPS (you will be credited for the return shipping).
- The critter must not show any signs of abuse (mostly pertains
to fish).
Never dispose of the critter you wish to request a credit for.
Packages sent to businesses unfortunately do not fall under the
guarantee. I can not be responsible for deaths due to incompatibility.
If you are unsure if your new animals will get along with your current
ones then please email me and I'll be happy to help you decide which
critters are best suited to your tank. Shipper delays due to bad
weather etc, and extreme weather conditons (ie below 30 degrees
and above 95 degrees) will void the guarantee. It is your responsibility
to know what weather conditions will be when you want to receive
your livestock. I can not be responsible for damages caused by the
carrier. I will file a claim on your behalf and forward any monies
they pay on that claim. Never return a critter to me without my
first approving it. Any critters sent without my approval will not
qualify for a credit. Guarantee applies only to the original shipment
and not the replacement.
Should you in the unlikely event suffer a
loss:
- Notify me immediately via phone, fax, or email. I will provide
you with the address to send back the critter. Notification
must be given within 7 days of leaving my hands.
- Send the animal back in the original packaging if possible via
USPS priority. Place it with a little table salt in a sealed ziploc
bag. You may also send enough water to perform all the required
tests in a sealed, double ziploc bag.
- The package must be postmarked within 24 hours of the death.
