Queen Conch
Strombus gigas

These snails are most well known for their size and great taste! From what we hear, there's a ton of different recipies out there for queen conch fritters! But, for our purposes in the reef world these are great algae eaters(yes even slime algae). They are completely reef safe and will not harm corals or eat coraline algae. These conch can grow to over a foot long in the wild and while that size probably won't be reached in the home aquarium, their large size must be taken into account. It will take them years and years to grow to such a monstrous size though.

Queen conch were recently placed on the endangered list. The conch we offer here are 100% aqucultured conch which have been tank raised. No harvesting from the wild here!
