Purple Torch
Euphyllia glabrescens

The species of Euphyllia are hardy corals but will be among the first corals to show signs of poor water quality should something be out of whack in your reef. They are very photoadaptive but prefer placement where they will receive bright indirect light and gentle flow. Current which is too strong may keep this coral from expanding fully.

These corals may take food when offered. Some type of meaty marine fare can be fed.

These corals can be very agressive and have very strong stings should they come into contact with nearby corals. Care should be taken when placing these corals in your reef. They can also be adversly affected by large concentration of some Sinularia species when "turf wars" are taking place.
